2009 Seattle Reunion

Postby Richard Madison » Sun Aug 10, 2008 4:12 pm

Hi Dennis:
I'm watching with great interest for any updated information regarding the '09 reunion. I would like to take an extended vacation to the Seattle area with the England Reunion its centerpiece. Please stay on top of a firm date for our event. It's to everyones advantage to get reservations for rooms and flights as far ahead as possible.

Thanks for keeping this website up and running. It's a great rallying point for the ship's events. Rich Madison RD2 67-69

We’ll have dates in a few months and I’ll ensure that information is put up immediately for folks to make plans. In the past, room reservations are handed with the registration, as a package with the tours and such.

Seattle is going to be a great place for our reunion. There is plenty to see and do and it could be one of the best thus far!

We are still deciding what we’re going to do, either fly up for just the reunion, or make a big road trip out of it and maybe take the truck out a few places along the way, play in the dirt and see things! It’ll depend on what happens between now and then, but we’ll be there and it will be a good time!!!

Happy to Help

Postby OS1 Dorn » Mon Dec 22, 2008 4:24 pm

Dennis,

Since I live in the area I would be happy to help with things on this end when I can. Just let me know what you may need and I will see what I can do.

Hi!

The locals can provide things like Flags (US, POW, Navy . . .) if you have them. Many FVWs and American Legion Posts will loan them. Anything to make us more Navy. We need a Chaplain also, if we have anyone who'd like to do that important step. We'll need people to speak on Saturday and, have fun!

This will be a great reunion!!! I have been to Seattle a few times and enjoyed it a lot!

Take care,

Dennis

Two couples are planning not only to go to the reunion but are also seriously looking into taking a train trip in the Canadian Rockes the week before the reunion. Bob McCabe from N.Y. and Jim Allen from Florida and our wives are in the midst of planning to take the Rocky Mountaineer Circle Train Trip which leaves and arrives back in Vancouver. We hope to fly into Vancouver and depart on the 18th and arrive back late in the afternoon of the 23rd and drive a rental car down to Seattle. We would welcome any others to join us. We aren't trying to put together a group and we can only be responsible for making our own reservations but if it sounds like fun, look into it. Maybe a nice little group of us will also do this little side trip. Jim Allen, Jacksonville, Florida U.S.S. England, 63-65

Go Gators!!!

Seattle Reunion

Postby MA1 hayden » Sun Jan 18, 2009 4:16 am

Thanks to my son-in-law I found this web site and learned of this reunion. I have already booked flight, hotel and car rental. Melinda and I are looking forward to being there. I have often reflected on my time on the England mostly with fond memories.

See You there.
