News and information about future reunions.

Greetings Shipmates!
Here is the information about the banquet meal. Please make your
choices and notify Bob and myself as soon as you can so we can get
the information to the Millennium. Also, if you're still wondering
about going, yes you can! There is information posted on this deck
log discussion and on the England facebook page,

Another note, I was not told there was a difference in the two towers
at the Millennium so, we were booked into the south tower. Since I
negotiated the contract, I have learned that they will allow you to
upgrade to the more modern north tower for an additional $20/night
($97 per night vs $77). I am trying to get the hotel to at least split
that $20 but, as yet have not received a reply from the hotel. If and
when I do, I will pass the word along.

Hi all! I just got off the phone with Steve Molina at the Millennium,
he's the guy I negotiated the contract with, and they've agreed to
my offer of $10/night to upgrade to the North tower.

Please make your selections and notify myself,,
and Bob McCabe,, by May 21, 2012, so all
the banquet meal selections can be forwarded to the hotel. Payment for
your meal will be collected when you check in at our registration table
in the hospitality suite.

Greetings Shipmates! We're a week away from gathering in St. Louis and are
wrapping up last minute details and reminders. If you are attending and have
not sent me your banquet meal selection, you need to do so ASAP, so I can
give the hotel a correct meal count.
Minimum dress code for Saturday night Banquet is "dressy casual" (no Jeans/shorts)
Anyone who wants to be more formal, please feel free to do so.
Those of you who have name tags from previous reunions, please bring them with you.

This is on a different topic. For those of you who may be driving to Saint Louis,
be aware that the highway department has started a number of projects that just
about affect every major highway into the area. Depending on where you are coming
from, you can check the road conditions on two sites, MODOT.COM AND IDOT.COM.
Both Missouri and Illinois web sites will have up to the minute info on road closures
and construction.

Here's a rough breakdown of costs and payment methods:
Hotel: Each attendee pays direct to Hotel ( $77 night standard room ; $87 night superior room)
Plus 15.74% taxes etc. Parking $7 per night.

Thursday night dinner cruise: $ 42 a person; Direct payment to be made by each
attendee. 13 people are attending so far. You can still sign up if interested. The
reservation # is 23089049, let them know you’re part of the USS England group.
Call 877-982-1410 for information and reservations.

Banquet Dinner: Cost $53.68 per person. Hotel has allowed us to pay on Friday the
day before banquet. They want one payment for all however so we will need to collect
cash at the welcome registration to cover the cost of the banquet.

Hospitality suite: Snacks, non alcoholic beverages will be provided. Cost is approx.
$5 per person. You can bring alcoholic beverages if you so desire and/or personal
preference snacks.

Bus for Brewer tour is approx $9 per person, based on the number of people going.

Couples attending banquet should have approx $118 in "cash" to cover banquet and
hospitality suite. Add another $18 for couples who will go on the brewery tour.
Individuals will obviously be $9.
We've tried to have direct payment when possible to avoid individuals putting their
personal money up front. In the case of the brewery bus they wanted an up front
payment so RJ will need to be reimbursed for the $180 payment. A few of us are
picking up the snacks and will also need to be reimbursed, hence the approx $5 per
person. Lastly, since we need to pay the hotel for the banquet dinner on the day
before the reunion, paying in cash will avoid anyone having to make a large check
with their personal funds.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this payment approach.

Sorry for the misinformation, but the correct link for Missouri
is and for Illinois it is However,
if you just search on MODOT or IDOT, you should be taken to a
link to their sites.
